Coatings on heat exchanger walls

Un-scheduled down-times and necessary repairs of heat exchanger walls cause high additional maintenance costs and lead to a considerably worse plant availability.

For this reason Bodo Häuser, later the founder and managing director of Häuser & Co GmbH, had already begun during the 1980’s to develop at former Thyssen AG a Thermal spray technology, specially designed to protect tubewalls in heat recovery boilers of LD-steel mills. The plasma spray technology proved to be the most adequate one for this purpose because of it's technological advantages compared to the other thermal spray methods.

Since founding Häuser & Co GmbH in 1995, knowledge and experience around the protecting of tubewall-surfaces and spray-technologies has continously been further developed . New coating-alloys were developed and improved to meet the changing requirements, optimize the protection and lifetime of tubewalls.

Besides the mobile methods to apply coating onto existing and used tubewalls in situ at customers installations, we do offer as well spray technology and product to apply coatings onto tubewall-panels at our workshop in Duisburg, before they are installed at customer's location.

The range to protect surfaces inlclude for example our well-known "HS"-alloys applied by Plasmaspray, and our Laserspray-technology using Ni-base-alloys like "Inconel625", well known as well from traditional welding.

At our workshop in Duisburg, we can handle tubewall-elements of up to 13m x 2,5m  -  as well if already bended or with already welded-on collectors, etc.  For other dimensions or geometries, please do not hesitate to contact us!
